Come Along for the Ride

Follow along as One Dad’s Mission unfolds across the map.

2024: Coast-to-Coast USA (Chapter 1)

On July 29, 2024, Jeff dipped his bicycle wheel in the Pacific Ocean at Irvine, CA and began pedaling east. Over the next 77 days, he crossed 12 states, traveling 4,100 miles through sun, rain, and everything in between. Jeff stopped at 26 Ronald McDonald Houses along this coast-to-coast route, from Los Angeles and Las Vegas to Denver, Chicago, and finally Philadelphia. At each House, Jeff and Liz were welcomed like family often by the very volunteers and staff who make these “homes” warm and by the families staying there while their children received care.

During this 2024 journey, dubbed One Dad’s Mission: Coast to Coast, Jeff experienced America’s vastness one pedal at a time. He climbed a total of 132,000+ feet (imagine pedaling up Mt. Everest four and a half times!), endured desert heat over 110°F, and even raced an approaching hurricane on the East Coast. Through it all, community support never wavered from crowds lining small-town streets to firefighters, police escorts, and cyclists who joined for a few miles in solidarity. Local news crews greeted Jeff at every stop, eager to share the inspiring reason behind his ride. By the time Jeff and Liz arrived to a hero’s welcome at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House on October 14, 2024 over $716,000 had been raised in donations and countless hearts had been touched by the story of “the dad on a mission.”

2025: The Netherlands Ride (Chapter 2)

Now, One Dad’s Mission spread its wings beyond the U.S. Chapter 2 takes us across the Atlantic to the Netherlands. On June 28, 2025, Jeff and cycling team embarked on a 300-mile cycling challenge through the Dutch countryside. In just 24 hours, they rode from the northern to the southern Netherlands, visiting Ronald McDonald Houses (Ronald McDonald Huizen) in the country. This grueling 500-kilometer ride or 300-mile ride was our way of showing that the mission of keeping families close is truly global.

Jeff rode in partnership with Ronald McDonald Kinderfonds, the RMH chapter of the Netherlands, which operates the Houses and family rooms for Dutch hospitals. Along the route, Jeff and team stopped at Dutch Ronald McDonald Houses to meet with staff and families, much like he did in the U.S. ride. The cultural setting may be different (expect some windmills and canals along the way!), but the goal was the same: to raise awareness and funds so families can stay near their hospitalized children. By taking One Dad’s Mission international, we wanted to inspire supporters both at home and abroad, and to kick off a future where rides in other countries might follow. After completing ~ 300 miles in a single day, Jeff also spent time sharing Hailey’s story and the mission’s message in the Netherlands, strengthening the bridge between RMH chapters worldwide.

2026 and Beyond : National Tour (Chapter 3)

The journey doesn’t end after a single cross-country ride or one trip overseas. Starting in 2026, One Dad’s Mission will undertake its most ambitious chapter yet: a multi-year national tour to visit every Ronald McDonald House in America. Jeff and Liz’s dream is to ensure no House is left unseen and no chapter is left unsupported. While the 2024 ride covered 26 houses, there are many more RMH chapters, 161 across the United States, in big cities and small communities, all providing vital care for families. Chapter 3 will be a series of rides and regional tours that, collectively, map out to every corner of the country.

Imagine a future where Jeff’s wheels roll up to each Ronald McDonald House from coast to coast, from Alaska to Florida, Maine to Hawaii. Planning is already underway: routes are being sketched to connect clusters of Houses state by state. Some legs might resemble mini versions of the original ride, focusing on specific regions at a time. Jeff will continue to ride in honor of Hailey and all children who need healing, carrying with him a message of thanks and a call to action for local communities. By the end of this national tour, Jeff will have biked tens of thousands of miles. Together, Jeff and Liz’s goal is to personally visit every House, delivering encouragement (and often donations) to each chapter they meet along the way.

The ultimate vision of One Dad’s Mission is not just to break a record or complete a checklist, but to spark a wave of grassroots support around the country. Every House has its own stories and heroes, and through this tour we will shine a spotlight on all of them. As Jeff likes to say, he’s biking so that “in the future, no family going through a medical crisis feels alone.” Follow along as we chart this epic journey, there are many chapters still to write, and you’re invited to be a part of all of them.
